Are you planning a County Event
By: John Dohoo - 05 November, 2006 (Last updated: 05 February, 2007)

A new system for the approval of County events is being introduced to ensure that the key areas of Health, Safety, and Child Protection; Financial Governance and Publicity and Reputation are all addressed at the planning stage and that there is clear accountability for the event.

A “County Event” is an event or activity organised:

  1. In the name of Hampshire County Scout Council (including “Hampshire Scouts”, “Hampshire Scouting” etc.) or
  2. By one of the County’s Training or Section Support Teams, Activity Clubs, Activity or Event Teams, or Expedition Groups; or
  3. By a local team drawn from, or open to participants from, more than one District in Hampshire, unless the event is approved by and run under the authority of a single Hampshire District Commissioner and District Scout Council.
