We did this as part of the global challenge, where we looked at the Mexican festival of "The day of the dead" which is celebrated on 1st/2nd November so makes a good change to a halloween night.

Make a set of laminated markers for the Explorers to hunt down. Give each one a letter to unscramble at the end. Contact a District or county radio operating group and get yourself introduced to radio orienteering.
