Jamborees Will Continue
By: Adam Jollans - 12 October, 2009 (Last updated: 12 October, 2009)

A number of inaccurate press articles have appeared this morning suggesting that the new Independent Safeguarding Authority rules will threaten the future of Scout Jamborees.

These stories are completely without foundation, and you can rest assured that Scout Jamborees will continue to provide outstanding Scouting and international experiences to young people from the UK and around the world.

The safety and well-being of the children and young people in Scouting is our top priority, and we will continue to do everything we can to ensure they are fully protected and safeguarded while on Scouting activities.

Our preparations to enable 90 young people and 10 adult leaders to represent Hampshire at the 2011 World Scout Jamboree in Sweden continue to gather pace, and we are looking forward to welcoming Scouts and Explorers to our Jamboree experience weekend at the end of October.
