What is HamJam?
HamJam, 14th-21st August 2010, will provide challenging activities in an exciting location for your Troop summer camp. It's different to
H007 - it's your camp with the benefit of a range of organised activities, including back up support and transport, with the opportunity to include your own programme ideas to complete a great week.
We hope the camp will provide a great adventure for your Troop, an opportunity to take part in a week-long summer camp and to try some activities that can't easily be done in and around Hampshire. You will also get the opportunity to meet and work with other Troops.
We expect that your programme will include some of the following activities:
- Climbing on a real rock face and tree climbing
- Water activities (a selection from sailing/canoeing/rafting/dragon boats) on Lake Windermere.
- Walking in the vicinity of Lake Windermere.
- High ropes challenge.
- Orienteering - differing levels for different levels of experience.
- Low ropes challenge.
- Survival skills.
Space is limited, so places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Therefore, those who register an expression of interest will have first priority.
You will need to come equipped to camp on a hilly site, providing small camping areas in the woods accommodating 10-40+ people, ideally suited to hike tents and smaller communal tents. The site is not suitable for classic flat field camping with patrol tents and marquees!
